London, 20th November 2001: NEW DEVELOPER INTERFACE FOR GALILEO ACCESS SET TO SAVE TRAVEL INDUSTRY THOUSANDS OF POUNDS IN SOFTWARE AND NETWORK COSTS
Travel Technology Systems Limited, developers and suppliers of a new Internet booking and enquiry service, eTravel Gateway, announce the launch of
their Developer Interface.
Developer Interface enables agents, tour operators and system suppliers to
link back-office systems and web sites to a GDS system. Until now the ability to do this has required extensive investment in network infrastructure and EDI messaging systems. With Developer Interface, however, back office and web sites can be linked into Galileo’s EDIFACT Select structured data interface, providing access to its full range of functionality, across existing Internet connections. This approach will save developers thousands of pounds in software development and network costs.
According to Martin Herbert of Travel Technology Systems Limited: “We support a wide range of programming languages in eTravel Gateway and the new Developer Interface, including XML, C, C++, Visual Basic, Java, PERL etc. All these programming libraries are available with full documentation and examples, giving developers access to the broadest range of functionality and enabling them to connect web sites, back office systems, desk top booking tools and many other systems into Galileo within a matter of minutes, using simple, industry standard TCP/IP protocols”
In addition, Travel Technology Systems are also offering development assistance and resources for agents via its
development team. Travel Technology Systems, TTS, is the company behind the technology for Thomas Cook and lastminute.com.
